Native Approach to Healing – Talking Circles

Kickapoo Tribal Health Center’s Behavioral Health Department is now offering Talking Circles. We are excited to add this to our programs because traditional native healing is proven to increase health. Talking Circles are helpful for those seeking support and encouragement from people who understand what it’s like to be in similar circumstances. The concept is for people to share, learn, and encourage each other as they journey through life’s highs and lows.

Currently, we have a couple of onsite Talking Circles, Christine McKinney, KTHC Case Manager, with Survivors of Homicide, and Susan Stacy, KTHC Behavior Health Mental Health Prevention Aide, for Caregivers Raising their Grandchildren.

Our Talking Circles are free and open to the clinic patients as well as to the public. A person does not need to have an open chart to participate. You can view information, dates, and times below. Please keep in mind that the days and times may change according to the need of the participants.
