Outreach Impacting Youth in Rural Communities for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

From July through October KTHC Native Connections provided Substance Abuse and bullying training to Dale, McLoud, Meeker Schools, and the Jim Thorpe Academy. Suicide prevention training was also provided to South Rock Creek, Wellston, and Jones. A total of 1,201 students in seven schools grades 5-12 participated in the onsite training. This grant also hosted Kickapoo Youth GONA and Disc Golf with the Kickapoo Tribal Police.

Great-great program! Kids are extremely attentive; the presentation is professional and informative. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Kickapoo Tribe at our Schools.
